A 1 1/2-inch outer diameter stainless steel pipe handrail is positioned 36 inches above the stair nose or walking surface along the ramp. Where no adjacent wall exists, stainless steel stanchions are spaced at a maximum of 5'-0" on center and embedded 6 inches into the concrete, filled with non-shrink grout flush with the walking surface. The handrail features a minimum 12-inch overrun at terminations and a 3-inch radius bend, returning to the wall or wrapping down where walls are absent.
