Sixteen-gauge metal studs spaced at sixteen inches on center receive a sixteen-gauge by six-inch by one-and-one-half-inch unpunched metal track with legs clipped and bent at each stud. The track is secured to each stud with three number ten self-tapping sheet metal screws connecting to a minimum of three studs. The backing extends one bay beyond the edge of the cabinet or equipment with a maximum weight capacity of one hundred pounds per stud. Flanges are left uncut between supporting studs.
