The elevator floor identification sign is mounted at a height of 60 inches above the finished floor. The sign measures 4 inches by 4 inches, with a 2-inch tall character area. Raised characters and Braille floor designations are required on both jambs of each elevator. A raised star is placed to the left of the floor designation on both jambs at the main entry or exit level. All raised characters must be white on a black background.
