A non-slotted head track is fastened to the underside of a concrete deck with one-half inch diameter expansion bolts spaced twelve inches on center with three inches minimum embedment, or with two number twelve self-tapping screws at twelve inches on center when occurring at non-concreted steel decks. Mineral wool insulation plugs fill the flute voids above the track. Gypsum board is scribed to the profile of the deck leaving a one-half inch gap filled with acoustical sealant, while fireproofing continuity is maintained where applicable.
