This wall furring assembly consists of 3 5/8-inch cold-formed metal studs sized per structural requirements. The cavity is fully filled with sound-attenuated mineral wool R-15 batt insulation. One layer of 5/8-inch gypsum board is applied to the interior face. Type X gypsum board is required at 1-hour rated walls to comply with UL assembly number V438 specifically at electrical rooms.
