A structural steel bottom flange brace connection utilizes an angle member sized as L4x4x1/2 connected to a gusset plate using two 1-inch diameter A325-N bolts at each end. The gusset plate is three-eighths of an inch thick and is welded to the beam web with a quarter-inch fillet weld. The work points are located two inches from the bottom flange face, maintaining one-inch clearances typical. Notes indicate to see the plan for location with an arrow pointing to the low end of the angle, and to space bracing equally along the beam span where not indicated.
