A six-inch diameter galvanized steel pipe is filled with concrete and extends three feet eight inches above the finished surface. The pipe embeds two feet six inches into an 18-inch diameter concrete footing that rests on a compacted gravel base. The surrounding site paving consists of asphalt or concrete over a compacted gravel sub-base. The exposed top of the steel pipe is rounded and ground smooth.
