A hollow structural section column with a minimum size of 4 by 4 by 0.188 inches serves as the core structural support. Minimum 41mm or 1 5/8-inch cold-formed metal studs frame around the steel tube shape to create the furred enclosure. Two layers of 16mm or 5/8-inch Type X gypsum board are applied vertically without horizontal joints around the framing. Corner beads finish the exterior gypsum board corners.
