An S10 steel beam supports a structural steel brace formed by an L 4x4 angle connected with two three-quarter-inch diameter A325 bolts to a three-eighths-inch gusset plate. The gusset plate is welded to the top flange of the beam with quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides. Three-eighths-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web at each end with quarter-inch fillet welds. An L 3x3x3/8 angle sits on the beam flange with a one-half-inch offset.
