A typical buckling-restrained braced frame connection at a steel column flange incorporates a gusset plate sized per schedule and welded with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on three sides, maintaining a one-inch minimum clearance. Half-inch stiffener plates are provided on both sides of the column web aligned with the beam flanges. The buckling-restrained brace member design and connection design are provided by the contractor. The steel core and gusset plate are protected per the designated project parameters.
