An elevator door frame jamb interfaces with the hoistway shaft wall and the adjacent lobby partition. The hollow metal frame accommodates a shaft liner typically per plan and a partition sized per plan. A maximum two-inch jamb width is maintained with a quarter-inch offset to the elevator lobby finish where it occurs. The door opening width is sized per plan between opposing jambs.
