A marble threshold sits centered beneath a door, resting within a thick-set mortar bed that transitions between different flooring finishes. On one side, ceramic or porcelain tile abuts the threshold with a quarter-inch height difference above the thick-set bed. On the opposite side, carpet transitions to the threshold with a matching quarter-inch height step. The threshold measures one and three-quarters inches across the top surface, flanked by half-inch shoulders for a total assembly width of two and three-quarters inches.
