A metallic pipe or conduit up to four inches in diameter penetrates a framed partition wall with an annular space ranging from one-quarter inch to one and one-quarter inches. The opening is tightly packed with two and one-half inches minimum thickness of mineral wool insulation forming material. A one-inch minimum layer of sealant is applied within the opening and finished flush with the surface of the wall on both sides.
