A steel ladder is anchored within an elevator pit between the pit floor and main floor level. The assembly consists of three-quarter-inch diameter rungs spaced at a maximum of twelve inches on center, welded directly to the ladder stringers. One-quarter-inch by three-inch by three-inch bent plates secure the stringers to the pit floor via welded connections.
