An acoustical panel ceiling terminates at an edge molding secured to the perimeter wall finish with a minimum three-quarter inch clearance. Main or cross runners are supported by vertical wire hangers, with perimeter stabilization occurring within twenty-four inches maximum of each wall. A seismic stabilizer bar or mechanically connected cross runner provides lateral support near the wall boundary. The end runner maintains an eight inch maximum distance from the wall or within one-quarter the length of the end runner, whichever is less. Perimeter wires are omitted when the end runner length is eight inches or less.
