A fire-rated ceiling assembly intersects a non-load-bearing metal stud shaftwall partition with a two-hour UL I502 rating. The ceiling framing consists of steel CH studs finished with gypsum board taped and jointed with compound. A steel J runner is attached to the vertical stud of the shaftwall partition. Acoustic sealant is applied at the ceiling junction for fire-rated assemblies as specified.
