A hollow metal frame intersects an existing concrete wall assembly at the head condition. Vertical and horizontal reinforcing bars are embedded within the masonry or concrete wall above. A fourteen-gauge steel Z-clip is welded with three welds to the frame per side and secured to the concrete wall with an anchor bolt. The top of the hollow metal frame aligns flush with the finished masonry reveal as indicated.
