A cold-formed steel header connects to an HDS5 stud supporting a lead-lined hollow metal door frame. The assembly utilizes an HDSC bracket attached with four number 10-16 screws into pre-drilled holes at each side. The HDS5 header matches the stud size and frames into the web of the stud below a twenty gauge bottom track. Frame attachment utilizes two quarter-inch diameter Hilti HUS-EZ screw anchors with one and five-eighths inch minimum embedment and two-inch minimum spacing into the stud. T683 clips are used for three and five-eighths inch studs while T685 clips are specified for six-inch studs.
