An aluminum window system rests on exterior framing and exterior sheathing, shimmed as required with insulated glass set into the mullions. A self-adhered flashing pan and waterproofing membrane are installed beneath the sill, sloped a minimum of 1/4 inch per foot toward the exterior. A pre-finished aluminum sill pan matching the EIFS wall covers the rough opening, sealed at the joint with a backer rod and sealant. The exterior insulation and finish system is applied over a compatible adhesive with a water-resistive barrier extending down the face of the exterior sheathing. Any penetrations in the waterproofing membrane and water-resistive barrier are fully sealed.
