This elevation detail shows a ramp guardrail and handrail assembly constructed from one-and-a-half-inch diameter painted steel. The top guardrail sits at a minimum height of three feet six inches, while the intermediate handrail is positioned three feet above the walking surface. Intermediate rails and posts are spaced evenly with equal intervals, and the guardrail includes an edge protection rail at the base configured to prevent the passage of a four-inch sphere. All handrail ends return to the wall or walking surface where no wall is present. The assembly extends a minimum of one foot beyond the ramp run at both ends.
