A diagonal brace extends upward from a non-bearing stud wall top track at approximately a forty-five degree angle. The bottom of the brace features a clipped flange forming a shoe secured with three screws on each flange to the top track. The upper end of the brace connects to a deep leg track anchored to the overhead structure using four powder-actuated fasteners.
