An interior steel knockdown door frame rests above a scheduled flooring finish with a maximum quarter-inch clearance. A reducing strip is provided where floor material changes occur, maintaining a maximum half-inch height per the floor finish plan. Scheduled flooring transitions evenly beneath the door threshold with equal spacing on each side of the frame centerline.
