This temporary sediment barrier consists of a silt fence fabric secured to a woven wire fence minimum twelve-and-a-half gauge with a maximum six-inch mesh. The assembly is supported by either steel posts at 1.33 pounds per foot minimum or wood posts measuring one-inch by two-inches or three-inches in diameter minimum, spaced at ten feet on center maximum. The bottom edge of the silt fence fabric is turned upstream and anchored in a six-inch by six-inch trench, which is backfilled and compacted. The fabric extends a minimum of one foot five inches above grade, while the overall post embedment requires a minimum of one foot five inches for steel posts and two feet one inch for wood posts.
