A portland cement concrete curb is positioned adjacent to a concrete walk and paving section. The six-inch Class A PCC curb includes a tooled edge and is doweled to the concrete walk using twelve-inch long number four reinforcing bars spaced at twenty-four inches on center. The four-inch thick concrete walk rests over four inches of base rock and eighteen inches of lime-treated soil. On the opposite side, asphalt concrete or concrete paving bears on base rock over a lime-treated subgrade per the geotechnical report, with two continuous number four reinforcing bars running top and bottom within the subgrade zone.
