A concealed fire protection sprinkler head is recessed into a scheduled gypsum ceiling assembly with a one-quarter inch clearance provided all around the cover plate. The supply drop pipe aligns with the center of the sprinkler escutcheon, positioned relative to the reflected ceiling dimension.
