This plan detail shows a Won-door accordion partition pocket framed around a hollow structural section column and tied into an existing wall assembly. The pocket enclosure is constructed with two layers of 5/8-inch Type X gypsum board on each side to achieve a two-hour fire rating at the door pocket. A recessed box for power connections is integrated within the pocket framing, coordinated with the electrical drawings. Dimensional clearances locate the centerline of the steel at 2'-0" and 1'-1 5/8" from adjacent construction, maintaining a minimum 1'-2" pocket width. A strict clearance note mandates that objects must not encroach within 9 inches of the centerline for the entire length and height of the partition.
