A three-and-five-eighths-inch by eighteen-gauge diagonal wall brace is installed at forty-five degrees on center at eight feet, connecting the top track of a non-bearing steel stud wall to the overhead structure. The upper connection provides options using a clip flange formed into a shoe, a deep leg track, or a clip angle, fastened with four screws into the lowest portion of the corrugated roof deck without penetrating the roofing, or alternatively attached to the bottom chords of the joist. The lower connection secures the shoe of the diagonal brace with four screws into the top track of the non-bearing steel studs.
