An expansion joint assembly is positioned within a framed ceiling or floor plane, centered along a gridline. The joint cover plate is anchored across the gap with alignment centering bars and suspension brackets connected to overhead structural shapes. Surrounding finish materials abut the joint assembly on either side to maintain continuity across the movement joint.
