A custom wood bench assembly features typical 1-5/8 inch by 5-inch bench slats and a modified 1-5/8 inch by 4-inch slat accommodating a light-emitting diode fixture. The slats are supported by precast concrete elements with intermediate and end support extents indicated. A 1/4-inch thick by 2-inch wide steel spacer and attachment hardware secure the assembly, painted to match the wood slats. An L-bracket and attachment hardware extend beyond the section, also finished to match the slats. The bench sits above unit pavers set over a concrete slab and compacted subgrade base.
