An entrance clearance bar assembly consists of a twelve-by-four-inch hollow structural steel tube member featuring seven-inch high bold Helvetica reflective lettering on a painted finish background, suspended over the approach. A six-inch diameter polyvinyl chloride height rail with yellow reflective hazard stripes hangs below via galvanized chains and one-and-a-half-inch high bold Helvetica lettering indicating caution and clearance heights. The bottom of the polyvinyl chloride rail is set at eight feet two inches above the pavement at the building entrance and seven feet zero inches above the pavement at the ramp entrance over a twelve-foot span.
