A metal track backing plate attached to cold-formed steel studs provides support for wall-mounted equipment up to one hundred pounds. A 600T150-43 horizontal metal track is notched to fit around vertical metal studs, which consist of minimum 362S162-33 or 600S162-33 members. Four number 12 self-tapping pan head sheet metal screws secure each stud connection, spaced one inch from the top or bottom edge and one inch on center. Double metal studs occur at openings, and wall stud flanges remain continuous.
