This metal stud partition assembly features five-and-a-half-inch metal studs spaced at sixteen inches on center with fiberglass sound batt insulation installed in the cavity where applicable. The wall is finished with five-eighths-inch gypsum board on one side and a half-inch cementitious backer board with mortar and tile per schedule on the other. A slip track accommodates deflection at the top of the wall, where exposed conditions require a continuous seal to the deck or a drywall trim for a square edge. Mud-in Trimtex drywall moulding and a Schluter Schiene E100 tile transition provide clean edge details.
