A sloped roof with slate shingles meets a vertical stone cladding wall at the roof transition assembly. Tower roof joists support fire-retardant-treated plywood roof sheathing, covered by a self-adhered sheet underlayment and a rain screen drainage plane. A portion of the slate shingles extends underneath the stone cladding. Stainless steel flashing directs moisture away from the intersection, supplemented by backer rod and sealant at the joint. Two-inch foundation insulation is positioned behind the vertical wall assembly.
