A steel pipe rests upon a curved saddle plate measuring three-eighths of an inch thick by six inches wide, spanning a one-hundred-twenty-degree arc beneath the pipe. The saddle plate is supported by a one-half-inch-thick base plate resting directly on a hollow structural section member sized ten by ten inches per plan. Two one-half-inch-thick vertical stiffener plates are welded to both sides of the assembly, featuring five-sixteenth-inch typical fillet welds and complete joint penetration welds typically applied at the intersections. The vertical support height measures ten inches from the top of the hollow structural section to the underside of the saddle, with two-inch side offsets.
