This interior partition detail shows a cold-formed metal stud wall framing assembly extending from the finished floor slab to the underside of the structure above. The framing consists of six-inch metal studs running continuously to structure, filled with three-and-a-half-inch minimum sound attenuation batt insulation in the stud cavity. Each side of the partition is finished with two layers of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum wallboard. A scheduled base is detailed at the line of finished floor. An alternate configuration, designated A1, utilizes three-and-five-eighths-inch studs.
