A diagonal wall brace connects to the top track of a non-bearing steel stud wall and extends upward at approximately forty-five degrees to anchorage above. A three-and-five-eighths-inch by eighteen-gauge diagonal wall brace is spaced at eight feet on center. Three screws attach each flange of the clip formed as a shoe at the top track. Four powder-actuated fasteners anchor the deep leg track overhead, with options for attachment directly into the lowest portion of corrugated metal deck without penetrating roofing, or to the bottom chords of joists. Four screws fasten the lower shoe to the top track of the stud wall.
