A cast-in-place concrete footing and slab on grade transition to an exterior shoring wall consisting of soldier piles and timber lagging. A structural seismic joint compound separates the concrete structure from the shotcrete-faced shoring assembly. A geocomposite drainage board runs vertically behind the shotcrete wall, while a waterstop is embedded at typical cold joints in the foundation. The soldier pile features Nelson studs embedded into the adjacent concrete column and shotcrete construction.
