A steel pit ladder assembly features 2-inch by one-half-inch flat steel side rails with bent returns anchored to the wall using one-half-inch diameter anchor bolts in expansion shields with 4-inch embedment. Seven-eighths-inch diameter smooth steel rungs are plug welded to the flat steel bars and ground smooth. The top of the ladder is secured with a 2-inch by 2-inch by one-half-inch flat bracket, while intermediate points feature a similar flat intermediate bracket anchored to the wall. The base of the ladder rests on the floor line, secured by a 2-inch by 2-inch by one-half-inch angle bracket anchored with one-half-inch diameter anchor bolts in expansion shields at each leg.
