A 7-inch by 8-inch by 1/2-inch thick base plate receives a 4-inch by 4-inch by 1/4-inch hollow structural section steel tube at a metal stud wall. Four 1/2-inch diameter Simpson Strong-Bolt anchors with 2.75-inch minimum embedment secure the base plate to the supporting concrete. Non-shrink grout is applied beneath the plate for leveling, and a 1/4-inch fillet weld connects the tube steel to the base plate.
