Cold-formed metal framing for a partition opening consists of a top track, intermediate tracks, and a built-up header sized per schedule. The opening jambs are formed using back-to-back studs fastened with number eight screws at twelve inches on center. The track attaches to the stud at each flange using number eight screws, and three number eight screws secure the header framing. A closure stud is required for the opening jamb, and the entire assembly bears on a continuous track anchored to the concrete slab with point-driven shot pins at sixteen inches on center per ESR-1799 or approved equal.
