This assembly consists of a gypsum board soffit framed with light gauge metal studs, transitioning to an adjacent ceiling system. The vertical and horizontal faces of the soffit are finished with 5/8-inch gypsum board. Metal edge beads are installed at all corners, which are then taped and finished to provide a clean edge. The bottom of the ceiling and the bottom of the soffit elevations are referenced to the reflected ceiling plan.
