This interior door head detail features a hollow metal frame secured to a cold-formed steel metal stud header or boxed header with a double stud condition at the jamb. The frame is anchored using two number six by three-eighth inch sheet metal screws per jamb anchor, with a minimum of three anchors per jamb. The surrounding partition is framed with cold-formed steel studs and finished with three layers of five-eighth inch gypsum board on each face. Four-inch batt insulation is included within the stud cavity where required. A four-inch minimum clearance is maintained to perpendicular walls where applicable, and the door is provided as scheduled.
