The pavement assembly consists of a four-inch thick asphalt surface course placed over an eight-inch thick aggregate base course. Beneath the base course lies a nine-inch thick granular subbase. This entire pavement structure is supported by properly prepared non-engineered fills, suitable natural soils, or structural site grading fill that extends down to suitable natural soils.
