Partition types P4A and P4B are two-hour fire-rated wall assemblies complying with UL U415 System B. Assembly P4A consists of two layers of five-eighths-inch type C impact-rated gypsum board, six-inch C-H metal studs, full-cavity sound-attenuated mineral wool R-twenty-four batt insulation, and one-inch type SLX shaft liner. Assembly P4B uses identical layers of gypsum board and shaft liner with four-inch C-H metal studs. All sound-rated walls extend from the floor below the roof to the structure above, with acoustic sealant applied at the bottom and top of the wall.
