This fire-rated partition assembly features three layers of five-eighths-inch gypsum board on each side over metal studs, constructed in accordance with CBC Table 721.1(2) and GA WP #2930. Alternatively, the assembly accommodates two layers of three-quarter-inch Type X gypsum board at both sides of one and five-eighths-inch studs. Insulation is installed within the stud cavity where specified. The construction provides enhanced fire resistance between interior and exterior zones.
