The assembly consists of a hollow metal door frame head anchored to a metal stud wall. The wall cavity is filled with batt insulation, and the wall faces are finished with two layers of type X gypsum board on each side. A backer rod and acoustic sealant are applied at the junction between the gypsum board and the hollow metal door frame to maintain sound attenuation. The door itself is either a hollow metal or wood door as specified in the door schedule.
