This two-hour rated acoustical shaft wall assembly utilizes minimum 2 1/2-inch C-H shaped metal studs spaced at 24 inches on center. Shaftliner boards are fitted between the studs alongside acoustic insulation to meet Underwriters Laboratories design U438. Two layers of gypsum board finish the exterior faces of the wall assembly. The construction provides an STC rating between 45 and 49.
