This two-hour fire-rated partition assembly complies with Underwriters Laboratories design U411 and consists of non-structural metal framing faced with multiple layers of gypsum board on each side. Acoustic blanket insulation is placed within the stud cavity where required for sound attenuation. The framing provides the vertical support for the multi-layer drywall finish.
