One-and-one-half-inch galvanized vertical steel pipes are spaced at six feet on center maximum and anchored into concrete slabs using two-inch diameter by twelve-inch long steel pipe sleeves. A one-and-one-half-inch galvanized steel handrail with a matching bracket is welded to the vertical pipe for pedestrian ramps and stairs, positioned at thirty-six inches above the finished surface. Intermediate horizontal rails are spaced at roughly five-and-one-half-inch intervals to maintain a maximum four-inch opening clearance below a forty-two-inch total guardrail height. Number four reinforcing bars measuring twenty-four inches long are placed at each side of the post within the concrete. All exterior railings and miscellaneous metals are galvanized with all welds ground smooth.
