A rated partition abuts a vertical mullion with an interior snap-on cap extension spanning the entire width of the room. Fire safing with continuous fire sealant runs the entire length of the mullion, utilizing neoprene for non-rated conditions sized to match the mullion color. L-metal angles at the partition edges receive paintable two and one-half inch tape matching the adjacent wall color. Backer rod and fire sealant seal the joint at the mullion extension below, painted to match the mullion color.
